For someone like Vivek Oberoi who is still remembered for his debut performance of Chandu bhai, it would not have been difficult to greenlight another gangster drama this time based on the life of UP's deadly contract killer, Virendra Pratap Shahi.
Oberoi plays the lead character in the film which rolls in November. Set in the late 80s and early 90s in North India, the film will be an out-and-out gangster film, a genre Oberoi is often associated with. The film is Shahi's journey from being a local goon in Gorakhpur to killing over 50 people before he was shot dead in 1997.
Casting for Hari Shanker Tiwari, who plays another gangster associate and Sriprakash Shukla, who ends Shahi's legacy, is currently under progress.
